Upcoming Fall Festivities Near The Burgh

There are lots of cool fairs, festivals and events going on throughout the Pittsburgh region during fall that you won’t want to miss! Check out our list of upcoming fall events the whole family will enjoy!

 

Soergel Orchards- Fall Harvest Festival 

(September 25- October 31)


Soergel Orchards is located north of Pittsburgh in Wexford. Soergel Orchards is a family favorite all year round, but the best time to visit Soergels is in the fall because of their Fall Harvest Festival. 
 

The Wexford farm will have their Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard open for picking, along with their market, offering seasonal goodies like candy apples, cider doughnuts, fresh-baked pies and pumpkin treats. There will also be a lot of family-friendly activities, including tractor rides and a petting zoo.

Kennywood- Phantom Fall Fest

(Weekends in October)

 

Recently known as Phantom Fright Night, the new Phantom Fall Fest lets you do Halloween your way depending on the time of day. Come early for family-friendly fun, including festive food and a unique Kennywood autumn atmosphere. PLUS enjoy your favorite coasters and rides during the day! Then when the sun goes down, the Phantom takes screams to the extreme with five haunted houses and four scare zones.

Simmons Farm

(September 18- October 31)

 

Simmons Farm is another great place for pumpkin picking and pictures! Located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh in McMurray, Simmons offers seasonal pick your own apples and pumpkins. Fall activities begin in mid-September and wrap up in the first week of November. They have plenty of activities for any age group.

Cheeseman Farm- Pumpkin Festival and Fright Night 

(September 17- October 30)

 

You’ll find daytime fun for the whole family, including pumpkin picking, hayrides, corn maze, a petting zoo, corn stalks and shopping at Cheeseman Farm in Portersville. They’re also well known for their scary Fright Farm, which has haunted hayrides and corn mazes and opens after sunset.

The Scarehouse

(Open On Select Dates Now Through November 6)

 

Warning! The Scarehouse is not for the weak. Voted “One of America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions,” by the Travel Channel, The Scarehouse is a must see this fall season. Their new home is located at The Pittsburgh Mills Mall and is packed with more clowns, demons, mutants and scares than ever before!

The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium- Zoo Boo

(October 16-17; 23-24)

 

Zoo Boo is back! Celebrate the return of the Pittsburgh Zoo’s annual kid-friendly Halloween event. Trick-or-treat throughout the Zoo, create creepy crafts, meet characters, watch the Halloween parade and more! Plenty of fun for the whole family.
